Sydney is a young sweet 1 1/2 year old medium size hound mix that found herself scared and abandoned with her two brothers at the hunter’s station in Kokee. They were then taken to the county shelter. The shelter was not a place where these shy pups were going to thrive. We were called by our friend that checks on the dogs that are turned in from the hunter’s station when she was told by the shelter staff that the pups were deemed too shy/scared to be adopted and were going to be euthanized. Thankfully we were able to bring them into KAWS and start their socializing right away. It only took a couple of days before each pup was fitting in nicely with their foster families and thriving with good family helper dogs, patience, love and care. They all attended group training classes to help boost their confidence.
Sydney is the more timid of the siblings, but takes a short couple of days to gain trust in her human friends. Once she knows a person, she is a regular happy, goofy, playful puppy. She is 100% housetrained and crate trained. She does well with other dogs big and small and is fine with cats. She is scared of small children so a home with older (teenage) kids or no kids would be best for her.
