Jackson is a young 1 year old medium size hound mix that found himself abandoned with his two siblings at the hunter’s station in Kokee. They were then taken to the county shelter. The shelter was not a place where these shy pups were going to thrive. We were called by our friend that checks on the dogs that are turned in from the hunter’s station when she was told by the shelter staff that the pups were deemed too shy/scared to be adopted and were going to be euthanized. Thankfully we were able to bring them into KAWS and start their socializing right away. It only took a couple of days before each pup was fitting in nicely with their foster families and thriving with good family helper dogs, patience, love and care. They are all attending group training classes to help boost their confidence.
Here is a bit about Jackson:
Jackson aka Action Jackson!
Jackson lives in his foster home with two other adult dogs and two cats. He has meshed right into his animal foster family very well. He is still a puppy and loves to wrestle and run around the yard and play with the other dogs. He enjoys his toys too!
Jackson is potty trained and crate trained. He gets along with other dogs and is cat friendly (with proper kitty introductions). Jackson will need a short time to settle into a new family and routine as he is still hesitant in new situations. Jackson enjoys morning walks and does well on a leash. He is learning new lots of new things in doggy training class and is getting to know sit and stay. Jackson spends the day at work with his foster mom and is getting familiar with daily errands like walking to the post office and to the bank. When Jackson is not running errands he enjoys sleeping in the middle of the floor or under her feet. Jackson would do well in a home with other dogs or with someone that has the ability to spend quality time with him.
