Jackson/Broofus

We are thrilled to announce the adoption of KAWS rescue pup, Jackson, now Broofus, to Peter in Portland. In October we were informed that Broofus was struggling in the shelter environment; it was a scary place for a gentle dog that had spent the first two years of his life living on a farm. Even though this nearly 60 lb. pup was staying with the small dogs and puppies, he was still terrified of his surroundings, and we were asked to take him into our… care. As soon as possible, our friend and KAWS supporter, Mimi, escorted Broofus to Portland, where he met his super cool new dad, Peter. Peter’s easy going spirit is perfect for Broofus who is becoming more and more confident under Peter’s care. Broofus also hangs out at Dogtribe, our friend and foster mom, Toni’s, doggy daycare. There he plays with all sorts of dogs, including adopted KAWS pups Nellie and Harper Lee. Peter and Broofus also have a lot of friends, giving Broofus the opportunity to enjoy the company of kids and adults alike. Peter works from home frequently, so the two of them get to spend most days together. Their house has a large back yard where there is plenty of space to throw a ball or chase toys. The next door neighbor’s dog, Lucy, has her own gate in the backyard fence, which means Broofus gets a K9 visitor often. A good home and familiar friends have helped Broofus develop confidence and he is no longer scared of his own shadow! We are excited to have Peter and Broofus as part of our KAWS family.
