Jet and Jinx were two sisters found stray running the streets of the west side. Both dogs were assessed at the local shelter and were placed on the adoption floor. While Jinx thrived and was eventually transferred to Kitsap Humane Society where she was adopted almost instantly, her sister, Jet, did not fare well in the shelter environment and was pulled from the adoption floor; her life was at risk. We knew if we did not find a place for her, she would be euthanized. So, we began the search for a foster. It wasn’t long before Sarah and her step-dad Shawn stepped in to save Jet. Sarah, who has been a dog person for her entire life was also working and training with Walyon of Aloha Fido, and immediately started training with Jet, who Waylon re-named Dalilah. With training, consistency, and a loving home, Dalilah thrived and became a wonderful pet. As time went on, it became clear that Dalilah was meant to stay with Sarah permanently and this summer, she officially became a member of Sarah’s pack. Sarah tells us, “I’ve learned so much from her. I think she knew she was going to stay with us the minute she stepped foot in our house. I couldn’t imagine it any other way.” Not only has Dalilah been a welcome addition to the pack, she has brought us closer to Sarah and her family. Now, we can’t imagine not having Sarah and Uncle Shawn as part of our KAWS family. Thank you, Dalilah, for bringing us humans closer.
